IEC debunks recruitment claims as false

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has dismissed claims of recruitment as false amid viral vacancy notices.

“It has come to the notice of the Commission that a false job advertisement is being widely circulated on social media. The advert falsely claims that IEC is conducting a general recruitment to fill different positions,” the Commission states in a statement.

“The general public is hereby informed that the IEC has nothing to do with such unsolicited advertisement which is aimed at misleading the public.”

“The public is urged to be cautious that as a public institution, IEC does not request for money from applicants or redirect applications to other organizations. IEC recruitment notices are published in major local newspapers, radio stations, etc.

Individuals or organizations engaged in such acts are warned to desist from sharing such fake news.”
