The training, which brought together participants from various units and departments under GRA, was held at the Senegambia Beach Hotel on 23 and 24 June 2025.
The training earmarked a significant stride in its strategic efforts to boost revenue collection, enhance service delivery and uphold public trust.
The training, according to GRA staff, served as a vital platform to equip participants with advanced tools and techniques necessary for the proactive identification, assessment and mitigation of various risks, thereby reinforcing the operational resilience of GRA.
Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner General, the Acting Director of Enterprise Risk Management, Reforms, Modernization and IT, Musa Saidykhan, highlighted the importance of effective risk management in today’s ever changing global environment. “In today’s dynamic global landscape, effective risk management is not just desired but essential and GRA is committed to building a more resilient, sustainable and prosperous institution,” he stated.
Mr Saidyhan urged participants to leverage the insights gained from the training to proactively address potential threats, capitalise on emerging opportunities and safeguard the interests of both the GRA and the Gambian populace.
He expressed confidence in the participants’ deeper understanding of risk management processes, which include risk identification, assessment, mitigation, continuous monitoring and, most importantly, the impact the training will have across the Authority.
Going forward, the GRA reaffirms its commitment to continuous improvement by pledging to regularly review and refine its ERM - Enterprise Risk Management - framework.
“This ongoing effort aims to ensure that the framework remains robust, relevant and aligns with international best practices, which will help reinforce GRA’s dedication to effective risk management for strategic growth and public service mission,” he said.
