
The annual conference brings together all commissioners general across Africa to discuss and exchange ideas based on their respective work experience.
The annual event is organised by the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) – a master class for Commissioners General CGs held from 22nd to 24th July 2025.
During the meeting, each CG takes the floor to share insights and experience, regarding revenue collection – a platform that allows CGs to learn from one another.
“Leadership is a key topic of discussion, emphasising the pivotal role CGs play in the development of their respective countries, CG Darboe told The Point.
He outlined the importance of political will in supporting revenue authorities. He advised fellow CGs to manage their stakeholders and principles effectively to make their work easier and more impactful.
He finally reminded the CGs that the work they do is vital to their nations and should be taken with utmost seriousness.
This is an annual conference and the next ATAF master class in 2026 will be hosted in The Gambia.
About ATAF
The African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) is an international organisation established to foster cooperation among African tax authorities. It was conceived in 2008 and officially launched in 2009, with the goal of enhancing tax administration and promoting voluntary tax compliance while combating tax evasion and avoidance across the continent. ATAF serves as a platform for African tax administrations to share knowledge, build capacity, and represent their interests in global tax discussions.
