Participating students are at liberty to artistically interpret the Jubilee theme: “Marching in Solidarity for Self-Reliance and National Development” based on their understanding and imagination. Entries with legible credit lines can be made in analogue formats using available resources from their Arts & Crafts classes. Students from Madrassa and allied educational systems with corresponding Grade 7 to 12 classes are eligible to participate. The submission deadline is Friday 28th February, 2025.
While promoting creativity and arts education among young people, the contest would create an impressive gallery of innovative ideas for ongoing visual arts exhibition aligned with our national transformation trajectories since independence.
To ensure smooth participation of students nationwide, the respective Regional Education Directorates are urged to amplify this call across schools in their clusters and receive labelled entries for onward delivery to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MOBSE) in Banjul for subsequent submission to the DG Spokesperson.
An independent panel of judges comprising seasoned arts professionals would select the best entries accordingly.
For concerns and questions, interested schools and students can contact the DPS for Programmes at MOBSE, on +220 7955154/3905154 or the Deputy Government Spokesperson on +2202452493/5371812. WhatsApp: +2209512719. Email: basankanu@op.gov.gm.
