Abubacarr Jawara, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GACH Global, has received another international award as part of philanthropic gesture in the country and outside.

The latest recognition is from the All-African Students Union (AASU).

The Gambisara born Jawara received the ‘Africa Philanthropic Investor’  award from AASU, making him the first Gambian to receive such prestigious award by the All-African Students Union.

The AASU in its press release states: “June 16 was declared African Student's Day at the 6th Ordinary Congress of the All-Africa Students Union (ASU) held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 1982.”

“It is also adopted by the Africa Union as AU Day of the African Child. Four years later, Africa Student Leaders will return to Addis Ababa to commemorate our fallen Heroes as we advocate for proactive peace building and recognize our patriots of contemporary times who have been there for us. On this auspicious day we award Dr. Abubakary Jawara for his philanthropic and charity work across Africa.”

Reacting to the development, Mr. Jawara said: “I am so delighted to yet again receive another award and this time from the AASU. This clearly indicates that my work is recognised globally. On my behalf and on behalf of my family, I want to thank them enormously for the recognition.”

Helping the poor and the needy in the country and in Africa, he went on, will continue to remain a priority. “We have to support each other so that we can all grow and achieve our desired goals. Allah asked us to help each other especially the underprivileged and the needy people, thus I am working in that direction. My objective is to support people so that they can overcome their challenges and also contribute to nation building,” he posited.
