‘CBG says low-income countries bear sharp increase in cost of living, others’

The governor of the Central Bank of The Gambia, Buah Saidy, has stated that considering the latest forecast by the IMF on the prospects of the global economy which downgraded its growth forecast to 3.2 percent for this year compared to 6.1 percent last year, it is evident that low-income countries are bearing the brunt of the economic consequences through sharp increase in the cost of living, debt sustainability challenges and rising external vulnerabilities.
