The award was in recognition of the excellent work he did in Agriculture and Rural Development over the last 14 years. The well-attended award ceremony took place at the University campus in Ondo City.
Dr. Aubee implemented a number of successful projects and programmes in the areas of food and nutrition security, aflatoxin mitigation, land policy, technology innovation, organic agriculture and biotechnology development, amongst many others.
In an interview with The Point, Dr. Aubee thanked God the Almighty and the Wesley University for finding him worthy for such an award.
He expressed delight to have contributed towards agricultural development in West Africa and in the continent by extension, further appealing for more investments in Agriculture and Nutrition security.
The region and continent, he observed, has the capacity to feed itself and went on to commend his colleagues at ECOWAS Commission, member states and development partners, farmers organisations and all those, who he has worked with over the last 14 years.
Dr. Aubee is presently an independent consultant and chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Agriculture Research Institute (NARI). He also serves in a couple of boards in the Gambia and abroad.
