The launching ceremony was held at Qcity Complex and it was attended by Islamic scholars from both The Gambia and Senegal.
Professor Omar Jah, an Islamic scholar with extensive international experience, has taught at various educational institutions around the world including Canada, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia.
Dr. Omar Jah Jnr., described the book as timely; saying, Prof. Jah’s contributions in promoting Islam is well known across the country and beyond.
"His knowledge, guidance, and interpretation of Islamic teachings are indispensable for Muslims seeking to navigate the complexities of life by the principles of their faith," he said.
Dr. Jah said the senior professor has raised awareness of the importance of our community’s faithful growth and development, contributing in no small way to the revival of a vibrant Islamic ummah – one that has been held back from contributing to humanity for far too long.
Dr. Cherno Omar Barry, the book reviewer, hailed Prof. Jah, saying his contribution to the teaching of Islamic education in The Gambia and beyond is beyond expectations.
"His recent book about the Sufism has touched the livelihood of the past Islamic scholars within Africa for their contribution in promoting Islamic religion across Africa and the world at large," he said.
Professor Dr. Omar Jah, the author of the books, thanked all those who contributed in the launching of his books while advising the people of Gambia to continue practicing the teachings of the Islam.
Prof. Dr. Omar Jah Senior served as ambassador for The Gambia, and held senior positions in the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in Jeddah, and the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC). Currently, he serves as President of the Shaykh Abdallah Jah Charitable Foundation (SAJCF).
He has been awarded the Order of the Republic of Sudan; Order of King Abdulaziz, 1st Class (Saudi Arabia); Order of the Republic of The Gambia; and Commander of the Republic of the Gambia. He has published a number of important works on Islam in Africa.
