It would be recalled that the Station Officer of the Sukuta Police Station was ordered to produce the station diary in relation to the alleged PIU shooter case.
The DPP made availability the station diary and sought to tender but the presiding judge asked him whether he would know if that was the diary of the Sukuta Police.
The DPP sought an officer from Sukuta to explain whether the diary was from Sukuta. CID Officer Lamin K. Ceesay came and testified that the diary originated from the Sukuta Police.
The presiding judge, Justice Jaiteh, requested him to indicate where in the diary it was specified that it was from the Sukuta Police.
After a thorough look, CID Ceesay could not point out from the diary where it was indicated as Sukuta Police Station diary. He said his name and those of his colleagues were captured in the diary.
Lawyer L. Darboe asked the accused whether he remembered the date he was taken to the Sukuta Police Station by senior officers. The accused, Ousainou Bojang replied that he was taken to the Sukuta Police on 14 September 2023 around 4pm.
Lawyer L. Darboe went through the diary and confirmed it was captured in the diary as stated by the accused. Counsel Darboe applied to print out the pages from the diary capturing the visit of Ousainou Bojang and the senior officers at the Sukuta Police Station.
The application was granted by the presiding judge Justice Jaiteh.
The case continues today.
