Feb 17, 2022, 12:40 PM | Article By: Ali Jaw

ChildFund Gambia Office in partnership with NaNA and the World Bank on Tuesday bankrolled a 3-day training for parents in Nianija, Central River Region north, on how they could strengthen the bond between them (parents) and their children.

This ongoing initiative is the final session of a series of trainings under the programme officially themed: ‘Playful Parenting Programme’.

The programme was established with the purpose of enhancing and strengthening the bond and relations between parents and their children by teaching them (parents) useful ways in which this could be achieved.

ChildFund through this programme targets over 500 parents, and expected to impact over 1000 children.

Previously, the organisation had concentrated mainly on women, according to Awa A. Gibba, ChildFund’s programme specialist on Early Childhood Development, but this time around, the programme centers on both male parents, thus making the programme not only important but also unique.
