The skills center was setup by KMC community service UNIT and was supported through the EU Funded Youth Empowerment Project with an amount of D9 million in 2020 for expansion.
“I was very impressed with the management and sustainability and was welcomed by 40 young trainees who are all training in sewing and weaving with the ambition to meaningfully participate in the fashion industry,” Mayor Bensouda said.
“Today along, we pledged D1,040,000 scholarship support for 80 students across the municipality wishing to engage in the training programme. This package will constitute 50% support on training fees,” he disclosed.
