
He raised this concern over the weekend during a meeting also referred as “Bensouda’s Din Kuliyo” held at the community of Fula Kunda in Kuntaur, Central River Region.
Bensouda pointed out that there have been so many killings in the Kombo areas, which he said is the result of lack of security and is getting very scary.
Highlighting the issues of high cost of cement and its scarcity in the country, he complained that this has also badly affected buyers and those in the construction sector.
Speaking on the issues of the United Democratic Party, Bensouda revealed that the nation currently hangs its hopes on the party’s victory in the coming 2026 presidential election, while urging his party members to remain united and serve the party’s interest without distractions.
Addressing a crowded UDP supporters meet at the community of Fula Kunda, Mayor Bensouda assured of his loyalty and support to Lawyer Ousainou Darboe, saying that he will never turn his back on the party’s leader.
He emphasised that lawyer Darboe has gone through so much sufferings and pains in sacrificing for the party. However, Mayor Bensouda noted that they are anticipating a tough election in 2026.
He also expressed his dissatisfaction on the proposed price increment for a loaf of bread which has initially been announced to be increased from D10 to D12 effective July 1, 2025.
