President Adama Barrow has promised the residents of Ebo Town that he will employ executive order to construct roads within the community without even consulting his cabinet.

Addressing a mass rally at Ebo Town on Sunday, the National People’s Party candidate recalled that the time he visited streets of Banjul in 2018, he couldn’t believe how bad it was, as Banjul was just like Ebo Town.

“I felt how bad the roads were. I will take executive decision to construct the Ebo Town roads. Amongst the OIC roads, there is another road that will pass through Jeshwang, Ebo Town to Abuko. It will be a first-class road with a drainage system and street lights.”

He added; “As I was committed to constructing the roads, oppositions were saying it was just a promise. From 2022 to 2026, people will see unprecedented developments in Kanifing Municipality (KM), as I will bring you all the developments you missed for the past years.”

He said that people are insulting but they are not insulting him, instead the presidential seat because before he became the president, no one insulted him.

Barrow, who is seeking for re-election under the National People’s Party (NPP) ticket, boasted that he is the only president in the history of The Gambia to win electoral votes in all KM constituencies.

Dou Sano, president’s political adviser, informed that the past two governments failed the people of the community, as the area still lacks some facilities.

“Former President Yahya Jammeh was here for 22 years and did his part but President Barrow came within 5 years and gets something that others didn’t have.”

Responding to rumours and critics that he fell out with NPP, Sano maintained that those are mere unfounded rumours.

“Some saying that they didn’t see me since the campaign started and I have a problem. I’m telling those people that it doesn’t happen.”

He further reminded Gambians to do away with any actions that have the tendency to incite violence, calling on all to promote and advocate for peace.

Hendry Gomez, an adviser to the President, alluded that since Barrow came to office, he has brought peace to the country, further describing him as a democrat.

“So many people insulted the president thinking he didn’t know but he still gives everyone peace.”
