His Excellency, President Adama Barrow last week received a delegation of Shukran Capital Management (SCM) partners for a presentation on a transformative development project initiative, titled "Waste-2-Fuel Project," which aims to address the pressing challenge of waste management.

The Waste-2-Fuel Project involves the conversion of solid waste, tires, commercial and other non-sewage waste, into clean, renewable Bio-Oil through advanced technological processes, resulting in other bio-fuel products such as compost, which will be available for sustainable agricultural enrichment, and recycled “green” plastics.

This project will also significantly contribute to youth employment, economic development, sustainable agriculture, and the industrialisation of The Gambia.  Additionally, it will contribute to the reduction of health hazards and environmental degradation, and promote public health and environmental stewardship.

President Barrow assured the group of the political will to address waste management as it impacts the image of the country and the development projects.  He urged the SCM and the officials to assess the viability of the proposal and advise on the matter.

Accompanied by the Executive Director of Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency, Ousianou Senghore, Shukran Capital Management’s delegation was led by Modou Kabirr M. O. Faal, the company’s Executive Chairman and Goodwill Ambassador for The Gambia; and includes Dr. Qutaiba Al Shaheen from Kuwait, Dr. Issam Jaber from Belgium and Kuwait, and Sven Luca Graebentiech from Germany.
