Barrow boosts GAF’s transportation & agriculture

In a major boost to the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF), His Excellency President Adama Barrow, Commander-in-Chief of The Gambia Armed Forces, donated five buses and five tractors to the Armed Forces at a ceremony held on April 2, 2025, at State House, Banjul.

Addressing the gathering, the Commander in Chief highlighted that his government is committed to strengthening The Gambia Armed Forces and other security services by providing them with the necessary resources to enhance their efficiency and well-being. The buses will improve personnel transportation, while the tractors will support GAF’s agricultural initiative in line with the national food security agenda, President Barrow stated.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Lt Gen Mamat O.A. Cham, on his part, expressed gratitude, highlighting that the donation will revitalise GAF’s transport system and reinforce its farming efforts. He also acknowledged former CDS’s Lt Gen Masanneh Kinteh and Lt Gen Yakuba Drammeh for their visionary leadership in launching the GAF Agricultural Drive.
