Ambassador Bah calls IMF executive director, Africa Group II Constituency

His Excellency Momodou Lamin Bah, Ambassador of the Republic of The Gambia to the United States of America, paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the Africa Group II Constituency on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at the IMF Headquarters in Washington D.C.

The Ambassador warmly congratulated the Executive Director on his appointment and extended best wishes for a successful and impactful tenure.

Ambassador Bah underscored the vital importance of continued collaboration with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), particularly as The Gambia, like many developing nations, strives to navigate the ongoing global challenges impacting economic stability. He appealed for the Executive Director’s support in promoting stability, and sustainable development across Africa, emphasizing that the Fund’s engagement remains crucial during this pivotal phase of The Gambia’s governance and reform process.

In response, the Executive Director expressed gratitude to Ambassador Bah for the visit and extended his appreciation for the wealth of experience the Ambassador brings to the table. He emphasized his intention to learn from the Ambassador’s insights and reaffirmed his commitment to standing with The Gambia and all member countries within the Africa Group II Constituency.
