Adama Colley and Mamundaw Saidy pleaded not guilty on the count of conspiracy. They pleaded guilty of the offence of assault causing actual bodily harm.
The prosecuting officer, Cadet Inspector D. Jammeh, read the facts on the count of assault causing actual bodily harm. Both the accused accepted the facts as read by the prosecutor.
Subsequently, Prosecutor Jammeh applied to tender a medical certificate, two cautionary and two voluntary statements of the accused. His application was granted and the documents were admitted by the court and marked as MC 1, CVS 1 and CVS 2 without any objection by the accused.
The accused were found guilty of the offence of assault causing actual bodily harm, and were convicted accordingly.
Adama Colley, Mamundaw Saidy and Fatou Colley were alleged by prosecutors to have conspired among themselves to commit felony to wit assault on the 20th July, 2025, in the Kanifing Municipality of the Republic of The Gambia.
They were also alleged to have willfully and unlawfully assaulted a woman (name withheld) by putting mixture of vinegar, black pepper and candle wax into her private part, causing her actual bodily harm.
The matter was adjourned to the 18th August, 2025, to invite the medical doctor who issued the medical certificate.
