Personnel of the Police Intervention Unit (PIU) have apprehended two suspects following a brazen attack on a fashion shop located at Westfield. According to reliable reports from The Point, the suspects were found in possession of dangerous weapons, including scissors and a spanner, among other implements.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the assailants arrived in a distinctive seven-seater vehicle, which they parked adjacent to the Castle Fuel Station before launching their attack on the shop.

Awa Jobe, an eyewitness to the harrowing incident, recounted the series of events, stating: “When the two young men entered the shop, they immediately inquired about the owner. One of them claimed that he was there to collect a piece of cloth and the sum of seven thousand dalasis that belonged to him.”

“The confrontation escalated quickly as the assailant began to hurl insults at the tailor and threatened to stab him if he did not return the money. This provoked a heated exchange, during which one of the suspects seized a pair of scissors from the tailor’s worktable and attempted to stab him. In the ensuing scuffle, the tailor sustained a laceration above his eye.”

Jobe added: “I also suffered a minor injury to my hand while trying to assist the tailor, as I happened to be in the shop during the attack. Fortunately, with timely intervention from the police reinforcements, the suspects were swiftly arrested."
