2 in custody over possession of suspected cannabis resin

The Drug Law Enforcement Agency – The Gambia (DLEAG), Kanifing Field Office has taken into custody 18-year-old Lamin S. Bojang, for being in possession of suspected cannabis resin (hashish).

He was apprehended at Junction Ba, Sabiji on Tuesday 1 February 2022 with 10 stones and six pieces of suspected hashish.  

On 1 February 2022, Basiru Saine, a 21-year-old was also arrested at Mandinaba Checkpoint while onboard a commercial vehicle. He was clutched with 21 stones of suspected hashish. The said suspected hashish were placed in white socks and concealed in his pants. 

They are both in custody while investigations continue.
