Serrekunda East ‘nawetan’ knockout cup update

Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) has commenced its ‘nawetan’ knockout cup tournament following the completion of the League Cup group stage matches.

 

Following their exit in the League Cup tournament, Old Hands became the beacon of surprise in the ongoing knockout tournament.

They won their two consecutive knockout cup matches against Bijankerr and Border Bi respectively. They defeated Bijankerr 3-1 on post-match penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in the regulation time, before going on to eliminate Border Bi 2-1 in their second-round game.

Earlier, on Wednesday 11th October 2023, United Star defeated Hannover 4-2 on post-match penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in the regulation time.

Modou Lamin Sallah scored for United Star in the 45th minute, while Abdoulie Jammeh leveled matters for Hannover in the 49th minute to force the game to post-match penalty shootout.

Milan Rosseneri beat Latrikunda United 2-0 during the late encounter on Wednesday.

T- Central beat Goh Bi 4-2 on post-match penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Peter Banjaki scored for T Central in the 51st minute, while Ebrima Jammeh scored for Goh Bi in the 58th minute to force the game into post-match penalty shootouts.

Ebbeh Gi eliminated Wah Sa Halat thanks to qa 1-0 win during a game played on Friday 13th October 2023. Modou Lamin Manneh scored the game’s only goal for Ebbeh Gi in the 42nd minutes of the game.

TK Snookers were beaten 1-0 by Maccassa. Muhammed Cham scored the only goal of the match for Maccassa in the 59th minute.

On Saturday 14th October 2023, Future Stars defeated Juventus 4-3 on post-match penalty shootouts following a goalless draw in regulation time.

Leeds United eliminated T. Town after a 5-3 post-match penalty shootout win following a 2-2 draw in regulation time.

Salimina Janneh and Agibou Dibba scored for Leeds United in the 13th and 61st minutes, while Modou Lamin Sarr and Tombong Fofana scored for T. Town in the 35th and 42nd minutes to force the game to post-match penalty shootouts.

At the time of going to press, New Germany were taking on Timbuktu in the earlier game, before Lions of T- Town take on Cannon in the late encounter.
