A British national and his Gambian counterpart recently donated educational materials worth over D7, 000.00 to Kabakoto Lower Basic School in Region (3) of Upper Niumi District of North Bank Region (NBR).

The head teacher of Kabakoto Lower Basic School, Mr. Mamalang F.S. Jammeh revealed this to our reporter last week at the Point offices. Mr. Jammeh said the school welcomed the gesture from their UK friend Mr. Luices Thirsk and his Gambian counterpart, Muhammed Alieu Jallow, who is a native of Kabakoto village. He said the donated items came at a right time when his school is in dire need of them. He promised the donors that the materials would be used for its rightful purpose. Headmaster Mamalang F.S. Jammeh appealed to the donors to continue helping the future leaders of his school.

According to Mr. Jammeh, this is the first time his school had received such a magnificent gesture from friends outside The Gambia, describing both Mr. Thirsk and his Gambian counterpart, Mr. Jallow as true friends of Kabakoto Lower Basic School.

The donated items included 1 cartoon of exercise books, 3 new footballs, 1 packet of eraser, pens, pencils, markers and a packet of crayon.
