Tubakuta have emerged champions of the Late Hon. Kebba Touray Inter-village Football Tournament after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kuloro in a keenly contested final match played at the Mandinaba playground on Sunday.
The game characterised by brilliant exhibition of skills and talent saw both sides launch series of attacking threats in front of each other’s goal-mouth but Landing Nyassi’s 34th minute strike proved to be the winner for Tubakuta.
As champions of the tournament, Tubakuta went home with a giant trophy and a cash prize of D13, 000, whilst Kuloro received D10, 000 as runners-up.
The tournament was organised by the Kombo East District Sports Committee (KEDSC) in memory of the Late Hon. Kebbba Touray, former National Assembly Member for Kombo East.
Members of the Touray Kunda family of Pirang village were the sponsors of the competition.
