Trust Bank Gambia Limited has launched another new product in the Gambian market called Trust Bank Electronic Bill Payment, “to ease the pain of commuting to schools or institutions just to pay your bills when it can be done from your bank”.
The introduction of this service to The Gambia by Trust Bank, which is common in most countries around the world, is a testimony of the bank’s ever-increasing commitment to serving the Gambian people.
The first of its kind in The Gambia, Trust Bank Electronic Bill Payment is a payment system that makes it possible for both Trust Bank’s customers and non-customers alike to make payment of their utility bills, telephone bills, school fees, local authority bills and many other bills or fees, through any of its 15 branches across the country.
“The uniqueness of the service is such that the moment the transaction is completed, the payment information is relayed real time to the utility company, university, or school,” said Trust Bank’s Managing Director Pa Macoumba Njie, at the launching of the product held yesterday at the bank’s head office in
He explained further: “The benefits to our partner organization include the additional 15 Trust Bank branches to their network thereby making it more convenient to the paying customers, real time information to aid their customer account updating and we are particularly happy to add that the incidence of returned cheques will forever be removed from the equation.
“In addition to all of these, the newly modified Trust Bank Online banking provides yet another outlet for payments to be made from anywhere in the world.”
With established presence of 15 branches across the country, Trust Bank is well placed to serve the Gambian people. Mr Njie’s assurance of the efficiency and reliability of the new service was greased by Oreme Joiner, Trust Bank General Manager, Banking, in the following words: “This product is a manifestation that we have been and we will continue to be using IT to ensure that the service we provide are reliable and can meet your needs.”
Mr Joiner said Trust Bank has robust banking software that will continue to bolster the service delivery of the bank in the 21st century and beyond. “We believe that we should be at par with banks in the developed world,” he said.
