Swedish friends donate to CCN School

Community Centre Nursery School in Bakau Kachically last Friday received a donation of dolls, eating plates, spoons, footballs, volleyballs, shoes, clothes, toilet assures, school bags, tissues, a Pentium Four Computer, among others.

The donation was made possible by their Swedish friends: Rose Mary Kazzar and Elisabeth Strindlumb, who have been assisting the school for the past years.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the school ground, Ousman Rambo Jatta, the Councilor for Bakau, said the Nursery School was founded in 2003 and has since then been benefiting from such gesture annually.

Mr. Jatta also revealed that the school has other helpers from England and Holland.

According to him, about 150 students from different schools are benefiting from the sponsorship.

He stated that every year, students receive 500 Swedish Kronor, equivalent to D1500 for their school fees, adding that the Nursery School has also benefited from a hall sponsored by Stockholm in Sweden.

Mr. Jatta further noted that there is a project on the pipeline to develop the Nursery to a primary school, stating that the school is normally renovated every year.

Speaking on behalf of Haddy Bojang, the Head Mistress of the Nursery school, Lamin K. Darboe expressed delight at the gesture and commended the donors for their usual support.

For his part, Lamin M. J. Sanyang, a resident of Bakau Wasulung Kunda who spoke on behalf of the parents said that he was much grateful with the gesture and thanked the management of the school and the sponsors.
