Sukuta zonal squad have maintained their unbeaten run in the ongoing Gambia Football Association Super Nawetan zonal football competition after beating Brikama zonal team 1-0 in the all-West Coast Region derby game in group B played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini-stadium on Tuesday.
The entire game was dominated by Brikama zonal team, who created numerous goal-scoring opportunities in front of Sukuta zonal team goal-mouth but squandered all their limited opportunities.
Sukuta zonal team were defending and relied on counter-attacks, which paid dividends in the 43rd minute of the game when Nfansu Bojang netted from a spectacular strike to give Sukuta Zonal team the opener, which proved to be the winner and the second victory for Sukuta zonal team in the championship.
Sukuta zonal squad have now collected maximum six points in two encounters, while Brikama zonal squad have collected three points in two games.
Serrekunda West snatched their first win of the championship following their convincing 2-0 victory over Barra Essau and Mayamba in the group B game played at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium on the same day.
Serrekunda West goals were scored by Aziz Mendy and Abdoulie Jallow in the 18th and 53rd minute of the game respectively.
Serrekunda West zonal team have now collected three points in three games, while BEM zonal team have only collected a single point in three encounters.
