Mariama Sabally and Awa Sabally were recently arraigned before Magistrate Effim of the Brikama Magistrates' Court, charged with criminal trespass and assault. Both denied the charges.
According to the particulars of offence on count one, in the month of November 2009, at Mariama Kunda, the accused persons unlawfully entered into the compound of one Kaddy Manneh, with intent to intimidate and annoy her.
Count two stated that in the same month at Mariama Kunda, the accused jointly assaulted the said Kaddy Manneh by beating her.
Meanwhile, the accused persons are granted court bail in the sum of D25, 000 each, with two Gambians as sureties.
