Super sub Habibou Koroma's second half headed goal was enough to secure his team Serrekunda East a silver lining as third place winners in the Babe Muhammad Jammeh Perpetual Zonal Competition played on 3rd January 2009 at the Serrekunda East Mini Station.

The second half sub and the match winner's 89th minute goal dashed the hopes of the Gunjur boys getting any silverware after their much hyped ambitions to bring home a prize as a form of appeasement to their unflinching supporters.

Before the last minute goal, both teams played an uninspiring game despite the D20, 000 at stake, little urgency for goal was injected in the field of play. Following both teams being knocked out of the competition proper, the game was just an academy, so much so that, the stake concerned, was not taken greatly.

Following their fascinating performance, with media reports tipping the southern boys as tournament favourites. Gunjur failed to secure any consolation for the performance they had put up in the initial stages of the zonal competitions. As the hour grow deeper, with both sets of players in for the search of a goal, Gunjur lost their pivotal defender, who was sent off for a double footed challenge on a Serrekunda East player.

Speaking to Pointsports, the young skilful and talented Habibou Koroma claimed that he is very much delighted to score the only goal of the match. He continued, "I am proud to lead my team to glory". The Saitmatty player said that football in The Gambia is really developing following a thrilling performance from the different teams that participated in this years-zonal championship.

Habibou Koroma vowed to carry this form for his club in the coming season. He said that the goal came as a collective effort of his team-mates giving the credit not to him alone but to all the entire teams.
