Security Chiefs cases adjourned

The ongoing treason trial involving the former Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. General LangTombong Tamba, and seven others, did not proceed yesterday as scheduled.

Hearing of the case was expected to continue yesterday with the defence testimony of the ex- CDS, but could not proceed due to a meeting convened by the Chief Justice of The Gambia with some members of the judiciary.

Consequently, continuation of Lt. Gen Lang Tombong Tamba's defence testimony, which he started since last Thursday 20th May 2010, was re-scheduled for Tuesday 1st June 2010 at 1 pm.

Meanwhile, the trial of Ibrahim Bun Sanneh, the former Executive Director of the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDEA), ex-deputy Director Karamon Bojang, Ousman Sanneh, ex- Operation Commander, Marie Sanneh and Seedou Bojang, the agency's accountant was yesterday also adjourned to Tuesday 1st June 2010 at 9:30 am.

In a similar development, the criminal trial of the former police chief, Ensa Badjie, Lt. Colonel Mam Martarr Secka and Major Kuluteh was also re- rescheduled for the same reasons, to Wednesday 2nd June 2010.
