Alagie S. Darboe, the Secretary-General of the Gambia Secondary School Sports Association (GSSSA) is delighted at the performance of schools that took part in the just concluded Trust Bank sponsored Greater Banjul Inter-Schools Athletics Championship, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Darboe also stated that this year's Inter-Schools Athletics Championship, slated for the weekend is going to be the toughest competition.
Both Upper Basic and Senior Secondary Schools are expected to put up a tight contest, judging from their number of qualifiers
"I was not surprise with the performance of Charles Jaw Upper Basic School for securing second position after they secured 11 qualification out of 37 events, together with Banjulinding in the Upper Basic Schools category," he opined.
The Inter-Schools Athletics final, according to Darboe is going to be exceptional in terms of organisation. As he put it, the Minister of Youths and Sports, school authorities and parents are expected to attend the competition.
Darboe used the opportunity to thank Trust Bank for their support towards the development of sports in the country.
