One Alhagie Kansu Colley Tuesday testified in the trial involving Lamin Jarju, alias Rongo, and his father, Alhagie Lamin Jarju, at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court before Principal Magistrate Dago M. Small Dayo

In his testimony as defence witness three (DW3), Alhagie Kansu Colley told the court he knew the two accused persons and the reason they brought them before the court was land dispute.

He said the accused persons’ family were the founder of Banjulinding village.

According to the witness, the two accused persons did not do anything wrong and the people who brought them before the court just fabricated lies against them.

Under cross-examination, the witness told the court the two accused persons did not take any land belonging to Alhagie Landing Kotoring Janneh.

The witness further told the court that the present Alkalo did not have any reserved land in Banjulinding village, as he, the witness, Kansu Colley, distributed the lands.

He said if the present Alkalo, Alhagie Landing Kotoring Janneh, wanted to give the land to any other person, he used to take orders from the Jarju Kunda family because they are the founders of Banjulinding.

He said he, the witness, never told the present Alkalo, Alhagie Landing Kotoring Janneh, that the two accused persons had tampered with any of his reserved land in Banjulinding.

He told the court the two accused persons never called any meeting in Banjulinding that caused any problem to the villagers.

The case was adjourned till 19 August 2014.
