Red Hawks set early pace in GFF 2nd division, As Fortune FC finish Brufut Utd unbeaten run

Red Hawks on Wednesday beat Bakau United 2-1 in the week fixtures played at the Banjul Mini Stadium to set early pace in the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation second division league.

The win was Red Hawk’s fifth straight victory in the country’s second tier after winning four previous fixtures before their hard-fought win over the Bakau-based outfit.

The newly-promoted side Fortune FC ended Brufut United unbeaten record in the second tier following their slender 1-0 win over the Brufut-based outfit at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on the same day.

Red Hawks are leading the second tier with maximum 15 points in five league fixtures after winning their five league opening games.

Fortune are 11 points in five league fixtures four points behind league leaders Red Hawks, who have bagged 15 points in five league fixtures.

Brufut United are with 8 points in five league fixtures and Bakau United with 4 points in five league fixtures.
