Fresh charges of negligence of duty, conspiracy to commit felony and theft have been pressed against two former senior officers of the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDEA), The Point has reliably learnt.
Pa Habib Mbye, former Director of Intelligence and Investigation, and Foday Barry former Crime Management Coordinator and Director of Operations at the NDEA, were Friday arrested, arraigned and remanded, our sources said.
Friday’s arrest of the duo comes barely six weeks after they were discharged of charges of giving false information and abuse of office, following a Nolle Prosequi (drop a lawsuit) that was filed by the state and moved by the DPP in the said court.
According to our sources, the duo are expected to re-appear in court on Monday 10th September.
They were earlier arrested on 11th May 2012, detained for 43 days and released on Friday 22nd June without being charged.
