Kachikally’s good run of magnificent form yesterday evening continued at the Real de Banjul Football field in Bakau as they beat previous joint table toppers Zebra in the race to claim the top spot in group C.
A 1-nil win over Zebra who remain second place on 9 points have seen coach Sainey Jarju and his charges open up a three point gap at the top of Group C thanks to their 100 per cent start to the Bakau Nawetan.
The win has also confirmed Kachikally’s four consecutive wins in as many matches and they are through to the next stage of the competition without doubt.
Sainey Ceesay’s clinical first-half strike proved to be the decisive moment of a clash of titans marked by some fantastic display of talents with the combative midfielder Fabakary Bojang delivering at the heart of Kachikally midfield.
Kachikally began the campaign with a pulsating 2-nil win over struggling Seaview who blew away what looked like a great chance to put their title dream alive.
The hotel club emerged to be on their way to a 1-nil success over bitter foes Ron Mango last week only to surrender their lead and eventually lost that contest 2-1.
Kachikally’s successful journey continued with a 3-1 victory over a weakened Tos Actief side few days ago.
That massive result was followed by a narrow 1-nil victory against Late F. Drammeh and the latest been another 1-nil win at the expense of in-form Zebra on Tuesday evening at the Real de Banjul football field at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
While Kachikally have confirmed their place into the last 16, it is a different scenario for Seaview, who appeared to be heading to an exit door after strings of dismal performances saw them only manage to collect a single point which came in their 1-1 draw against Late F. Drammeh, a fortnight ago.
