Sep 20, 2010, 1:15 PM | Article By: Lamin B. Darboe

Buba Sheriffo Jawara, 44, is in dire need of fabrication and acquisition of prostheses limbs, following his below-knees amputation due to diabetic gangrene, for both his left leg in Dakar in February 2007.

Speaking at the weekend to The Point, Jawara said that two years later his right leg was also amputated at Kololi Clinic in March 2009.

A resident of Brikama Nema, Jawara is open to advice on suitable prostheses.

According to his Kololi Clinic medical report dated 24th October 2009 and signed by Dr. Sheriffo A.L. Ceesay, the man needs support for overseas treatment.

"Presently there are no facilities in The Gambia for the fabrication and acquisition of prostheses limbs nor are there any facilities for the physiotherapeutic and rehabilitation components that are essential in the management of double amputees," Buba's medical report states.

Anyone led by the Almighty God to lend a helping hand to Buba can reach him on the following phone numbers: 7579911, 7082809 or better still send him an email at: bubajawara33@yahoo.com.
