The Gambia Telecommunications Company Limited Football Club (Gamtel) will Saturday 11 September 2011 play against Horoya FC of Guinea Conakry in the returned leg of the 26th edition of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Championship, now named Eyadema’s Cup, at the 28 September Stadium in Conakry.
It would be recalled that during the first leg in Banjul last month, Gamtel defeated their opponents by 3 goals to nil.
In an interview with Pointsport yesterday about the level of preparation of the team ahead of the match, the head coach of Gamtel FC, Tapha Manneh, said the team is training daily in preparation for the match, noting that” the players are all in good shape”. “The team will play to the best of their ability, and the final list of the team travelling to Guinea will be announced on Tuesday,” he disclosed.
The players and officials will leave Banjul on Friday, coach Manneh said, while calling on the public to pray for the team to emerge successful.
