A daylong forum on drug abuse recently ended at the Abraxas Job Placement Training Center at Fajara M. Section.

The forum was organized by Abraxas Job Placement Training Center, a non-profit organization that provides opportunities for young people to improve their prospects and productivity.

The forum also aimed to increase awareness on drug abuse and how to discourage youths in the country from enduring its harmful effects.

The Director and Project Manager of Abraxas, Sekuru Berenga, alias Papa B, spoke on the dangers of drug abuse, especially for the youth and how they should be treated.

He advised the youth to stay away from drugs, noting that it is detrimental to their health and wellbeing.

Mr Berenga promised that they would continue to fully support the forum at Abraxa.

Maimuna Kolley, Assistant Coordinator of Abraxa, said they usually organized forums every two months and that various topics are discussed for the benefit of society.

Paul Demba, a teacher at SOS Upper Basic School, highlighted the importance of the forum, saying they were able to learn about the dangers of drug abuse and its effects on the society.

The forum was attended by students and teachers from various institutions in the country.

The forum next is set to be held on 9 July 2017.

Abraxa Job Center provides training and job opportunities for young people in courses like customer care, work ethics, introduction to English and others.
