FIFA commends O.B and Omar Sey

Following the successful ending of the transition programme in Gambian football, the President of the world football governing body, Fifa, Joseph Sepp Blatter, has sent a personal letter on behalf Fifa thanking the O. B Conateh chairman of the now defunct Normalization Committee and his vice, Omar Sey, for their commitment since assuming office as head of the Normalization Committee which ended with the election of new officials to run Gambia football.

The full text of the letter reads:

I would like to sincerely thank you for your commitment while you assumed the chairmanship of and vice chairmanship of the Normalization Committee which successfully concluded with the elections of a new office bearers of the Gambia football federations.

I know that we could count on your great experience and skills and The Gambia should be proud of your contribution to football both internationally and nationally as was the case with the Normalization Committee.

You are lining examples of people who have been guided by the passion for football all your lives, and I hope that you will continue to inspire the new generations who want to develop our beautiful game. The combination of wisdom and youth is a guarantee for success.

It will be always a pleasure to meet you, and I wish you and your families [good] health and happiness.
