Authoritative official sources have hinted this paper that Dr. Momadou Tangara has been appointed as the new Coordinator of the National Authority System Unit (NAOSU), a unit that supervises all European Commission (EC)- funded programmes and projects in The Gambia. He replaces Dr. Omar Touray in a position that serves as a bridge between The Gambia and her largest donor- EC.

Dr. Tangara obtained a Ph.D in Semiology from the University of Limoges, France, where he achieved the highest distinction. He speaks Fluent English, French and Spanish. He has also studied Demography in Belgium and also holds a diploma in Journalism.

He had previously worked as Programme Officer, Rapporteur of European Commission Unit in Brussels at the office of the Director General for Development (DADEX).

It is believed that the appointment of Dr. Tangara, 42, will give a new lease of life to this important institution as he has always been committed to national development.
