The game was part of Brikama United’s preparations for the 2013-2014 GFF division one domestic league championship set to commence on 3 January 2014.
The test game was also part of Gunjur zonal’s preparations for the 2013 Skye Bank Gambia Limited-sponsored Super Nawettan zonal football competition slated to get underway in the first week of December 2013.
Both sides made an astonishing start to the game and caused serious assaults in each other’s goal mouth but the first half failed to produce a goal.
Upon resumption of the game, both sides brought in several fresh legs to strengthen their striking departments.
Alagie Sarr could have netted the opener for Gunjur zonal team in the 46th minute of the game but his shot was denied by Brikama United’s custodian.
Alasana Marong also came very close to opening the scores for Gunjur Zonal team in the 55thminute of the game but the brilliant effort went a little bit over the cross bar.
Midfielder Sainey Sambou, alias Duta, could have also put Brikama United in front in the 60th and 65th minutes of the game but his shots were denied by the wood work and thus the game ended goalless.
