Dr Ancha Jagne Ceesay Quality Foundation Nursery School in Bundung recently received an exclusive sponsorship package of D40,000 from Dr Ancha Jagne, the main sponsor of the said nursery school.
The money is meant for the teachers’ salaries and school fees of the students among other purposes.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the school grounds, Dr Ceesay, who is based in the US, said she is “very much committed” to helping children of The Gambia, who are the future leaders of the country.
She added that monies used to support the school are donated by her husband and family members abroad.
For his part, Bamba Njie, a brother to Dr Ceesay, praised the sponsors profoundly for helping the children of The Gambia and contributing to building the future of the country.
The head teacher of the school, Lamin Saidykhan, thanked Dr Ceesay for her continued support to the school.
Mr Saidykhan said that when he started the school in 2006 he was faced with a lot of difficulties and setbacks but through the help of God and the helping hand of people like Dr Ceesay the school is now set on a progressive path and steady growth.
The Ward Councillor, Alhagie Bahoum, representing the Lord Mayor of KMC, expressed happiness at the donation.
Other speakers at the ceremony were Imam Yusupha Mboob, who spoke on behalf of Imam Ratib of Banjul, and Alhagie Darbo, the school’s PTA chairman.
They all commanded Dr Ceesay for her support to the school.
