50 Nurse Attendants Trained on Basic Nursing Procedures

Sheikh Abdoulah Jah Charitable Foundation (SAJCF) in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank on Monday 4th May commenced a ten days training for fifty nurse attendants on basic nursing procedures and care at the Western Region health office in Brikama.

In his welcoming address at the opening, Mr Juma Jallow, Regional Nursing Officer, Western Region said the training will greatly help the nurses in their work. He noted that the foundation since its establishment in 2004, has conducted series of training for the health staff on difference areas of health importance.

For her part Ajaratou Abi Khan, Regional Health Director, Western Region said the foundation is complimenting government efforts in the area of health. He added that under the leadership of Dr Omar Jah senior, the foundation has supported the health sector.

Muhammad Quraish, Administrative Officer of the foundation said they have been closely working with the Department of state for health and have a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of health and RVTH. He revealed that the foundation have a medical caravan, which offers free medical attention to communities without any cost.

Sainabou Faal, Deputy Governor, Western Region commended the foundation for the good work they are doing in the country and urged the participants to take the training seriously.
