Judgement On Assault case Held

Judgement on the assault case involving one Ansumana Sanyang, a resident of Bakoteh was held at the Bundung Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Lamin George.

According to the charge sheet, the accused on 16th November 2008, at Bakoteh unlawfully assaulted one Mama Jobe Sanyang by beating her, and thereby causing her actual bodily harm.

In his judgement, Magistrate Lamin George told the court that the prosecution had called in three witnesses, while the accused gave evidence and called one witness.

Magistrate George further informed the court that, after going through the evidences, the court was satisfied that the prosecution had proven their case against the accused person.

He consequently convicted and sentenced the accused to pay a court fine of D3000.00, in default to serve three months in prison.
