Alleged Human Trafficking Trial Proceed

The alleged human trafficking case involving one Pap Ebou Gaye and Jebbel Sallah proceeded yesterday, at the Brikama Magistrates' Court with the second prosecution witness, one Omar Gaye.

In his evidence-in-chief, Omar Gaye, told the court that he knew the 2nd accused person, Jebbel Sallah through the 1st accused, Pap Ebou Gaye.

He told the court that he was sent by the 2nd accused to collect money from him.

He explained that, his brother Ebrima Gaye gave him an amount of 300,000 CFA, equivalent to D16, 000 to give it to the 1st accused, Pap Ebou Gaye to help him travel to Spain.

He said after giving him the money, he made several calls to the 1st accused person, but to no avail. He added that the 1st accused later sent the 2nd accused whom he met on the 25th August at Brufut beach.

PW2 revealed further to the court that upon meeting with the 2nd accused, discussions were made on the price and they agreed on an amount of 350,000CFA, equivalent to D18.000,

According to him, before making payment to the 2nd accused, he was arrested and taken to Serrekunda Police Station.
