Africell Theft Case Proceeds

Modou Colley, a police officer attached to Old Yundum Police Station on the 26th May 2009, testified as the third prosecution witness in the on-going criminal trial involving one Modou Sanneh.

Mr. Sanneh was alleged to have stolen drums of gas oil, being the property of Africell at Brusubi.

Testifying, PW3 told the court that on the 22nd April 2008, he was on duty at Old Yundum Police Station, when he received a complained from Africell that there was a large amount of fuel stolen from their Africell tank at Brusubi site. He stated that according to the complainant there were security guards on duty and that the accused person was among them, adding that during the course of investigations the accused and others were arrested. PW3 adduced that on the 5th May 2008, when they mounted further investigation, one Ali Touray a taxi driver admitted that he bought the said gas oil from the accused Modou Sanneh at a cost of D360 per gallon .

The case was adjourned to 1st June 2009.

Magistrate Forster of the Bundung Magistrates' Court presided over the case.
