YEP football festival held

Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) and National Sports Council organized a day long football festival for kids at the FIFA Goal Project in Yundum.

The festival brought together over hundreds of school children who take part in the football festival.

In June 2019, the UEFA Foundation for Children and International Trade Centre (ITC) signed a partnership for the new initiative dubbed “Kick for Trade” with the objective to use football to boast inclusive development and support youth employment.

Babucarr Sallah, Operations and Finance office at YEP who doubles as the focal person for kick for Trade implemented by the International trade Centre said the objective is bringing together kids for a day session and introduce them to kick for trade initiative.

GFF manager for youths and grassroots football Alhagie Nyassi thanked initiators of the project adding that the role of GFF is to develop and promote football that was why they partner with initiators of the project.

He added that training the kids at this stage will help them develop and be able to earn a living in future.

Haddy Daffeh a participant said she was excited to be part of the training, saying she learned a lot during the training and will make best use of it as well as train others.
