Two new young Gambian scientists emerge

Thursday, July 29, 2010

As science and technology continue to dominate and control the world, two young Gambian scientists have emerged here in the Gambia.

Mr. Bakary Badjie and Seedy Jabang all of Tujereng village in the Kombo South district of the Western Region of the Gambia are the two young new Gambian-born scientists who can create or discover some scientific matters that were known to be impossible.

Speaking to the Youth Forum, Mr. Bakary Badjie who walked into The Point offices recently revealed that they can make electricity pass through wood even though many people believe this to be impossible. He also said that they have made their own TV transmitter, as well as their own radio station, and a telephone line.

"We have already made our own TV transmitter, radio station as well as our own telephone line different from that of Gamtel, and can call and receive calls.

We also made what we call a touching light. This can pass electricity without wires, but only through wood, even though many people believe this to be impossible.

We also made our own machines that can be used to examine people in the theatre," he further revealed.

According to the 25-year-old man, they can make this country proud if they are supported in the field of technology.

I am 25 years and my colleague is 24 years, and all of us are Gambians born in Tujereng village in the Kombo South District of the Western Region of the Gambia.

"We can make The Gambia proud if we are supported in the field of technology. The Gambia today only needs scientists and engineers to help move this country forward, hence science and technology have dominated the world today," he stated.

The St Augustines Senior Secondary School graduate finally appeal to government, NGOs, philanthropists and individuals to help them in every way possible to upgrade themselves. He said that since 2008 they have been lobbying for support, but to no avail. You can contact them on 6391889 or 6307562.
