Friday, August 11, 2017

The criminal case involving one Nuha Dampha could not proceed before the Basse High Court as the accused was indisposed.

The accused is charged with rape and the prosecution alleged that on 29 March 2016 at Tinkinto village in the Upper River Region, he intentionally and under coercive circumstances had unlawful carnal knowledge of a dumb girl.

The court was reliably informed that the accused was granted bail by the previous judge.

State Counsel L. Jarju informed the court that the accused has not been attending court sittings.

State Counsel Jarju requested for a date in the October sitting and promised to search for the file and contact the sureties to produce the accused.
