Wednesday, February 04, 2009

A 2-0 win over Manjai United on Monday has given Serrekunda United maximum points to proceed to The Gambia Football Association third Division Triangular as the representatives of the KanifingMunicipality.

Serrekunda United, who demonstrated what looked like a solid campaign, outclassed fellow contenders Garba Jahumpa 1-0 and Manjai United 2-0 during the KM Preliminary qualifiers.

A goal in the 67th minute by Ansumana Sumbudou and an own goal by Mola Jammeh in the 71st minute have boosted S/K United's campaign in securing six points to enter the third division race.

Having gone unbeaten in two matches, United's prospects in the third division qualifiers looks bright. They will take on Jollof Tutors on Thursday at the Independence Stadium.

S/k United will play host to Lamin United in the final match of the qualifiers at Serrekunda East.

The Gambia football Association third division qualifiers kicked off yesterday between Lamin United of Western Region and Jollof Tutors of Banjul at the Independence Stadium in Bakau. The match ended 1-0 in favour of Lamin.
