Cherno Barry, a shopkeeper and a resident of Brikama Nyambai, recently testified at the Special Criminal Court in a murder case involving one Abdourahman Barry.

The accused, Abdourahman Barry, was alleged to have murdered one Sulayman Barry.

He told the court that he shared the same mother with both the accused and the deceased person.

He testified that on 25 October 2011, while he was at the shop, his mother came and informed him that the accused and the deceased had a problem, adding that when he went inside the compound he found the deceased lying on the ground and he was crying.

“I went back to the shop to bring water for the deceased, because he was demanding water. As I went back to give him water, his position was changed, because he was lying near the toilet but I found him near the veranda. I called him, but he did not respond and I touched him, but there was no reaction,” he told the court.

He added that he called his father, and later got a taxi and took the deceased person to the health center, where he passed away.

He later gave a statement to the police.
