The General public is hereby informed that the Honorary Consulate of the Russian Federation in the Islamic Republic of The Gambia situated along Kairaba Avenue is now officially opened.

The Honorary consulate is situated right next to the Butcher’s restaurant, where the old Elf Company headquarters was housed.

The Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation in The Gambia, Mr Momodou Lamin Manga, said: “The opening of the office is a clear indication of strong ties between Moscow and Banjul. The two countries have enjoyed fruitful relations over the past 50 years, and there is a lot in the pipeline to cement ties.”

He added: “Many Gambians have had the opportunity to study in Russia and I am pleased to reveal that two Gambian students will benefit from scholarships offered for the next academic year. There are many areas of interest and cooperation being undertaken by the two governments which should bring both people closer.”

Consul Manga also appealed to all those that had studied in Russia to kindly forward an email or contact to the office as he would like to update and create a database of former students that studied in Russia.
